On April 3rd, 2026, Western Academic Workers United elected Connor Haines to serve as our Local’s delegate to the 2026 UAW Constitutional Convention. The Elections Committee certified the uncontested election of Connor Haines on 2026-04-04.
My name is Connor Haines, and I’ve been an OSE and ESE for the last two years. I believe I would be a great Constitutional Convention delegate because of my previous experience working on the Bylaws committee and working with UAW associated political groups. While on Bylaws Committee I have familiarized myself with the UAW constitution, its benefits and its limitations. As the Constitutional Delegate I will represent WAWU and ensure that higher ed and new locals continue to be a priority for UAW.
