Western Academic Workers United will be electing one delegate to attend the United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America’s Thirty-Ninth Constitutional Convention in accordance with the International Constitution and Local Bylaws.
Nominations open for all members in good standing of WAWU-UAW 4929 on March 23rd, 2026. To accept your nomination, email elections@wawu-union.org with your name, pronouns, job title + workplace, a headshot that clearly shows you with a 4:5 aspect ratio, and an optional > 500 word candidate statement. Nominations close at midnight on April 2nd, and all candidate statements will be posted to the website no later than April 9th, in accordance with the Local Bylaws.
Voting will open online on April 16th and remain open for 7 days, closing at midnight on April 23rd. The Elections Committee will convene to canvas the election and will publish the results of the election, or further information on a runoff if needed, no later than May 1st, 2026.
