Ballot Measure Initiative Measure 2066 – VOTE NO
Initiative 2066 proposes to undermine Washington’s Decarbonization Act and reverse the climate organizing our union members have done in the past. Currently, Washingtonians are incentivized to transition to electric appliances and heating instead of natural gas as each household can afford to, and requires all new buildings to be built to use clean energy. Vote NO on I-2066 to keep our energy bills lower, our air cleaner and healthier, and keep Washington moving towards a just transition for a green climate.
Ballot Measure Initiative Measure 2109 – VOTE NO
Vote NO on Initiative 2109. Repealing Washington’s capital gains tax would be disastrous for our schools. The capital gains tax only affects the wealthiest individuals who make substantial profits from the sale of stocks, bonds, and other high-end assets. Repealing this tax would strip away essential funding for public services, including education and child care, which benefit all Washingtonians. Voting NO protects the investments in our schools, infrastructure, and critical public programs that rely on this revenue.
Ballot Measure Initiative Measure 2117 – VOTE NO
Initiative 2117 aims to repeal the Climate Commitment Act, landmark legislation designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. Repealing this act would undermine our efforts to create a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations. The Climate Commitment Act not only sets ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions but also creates jobs in the green energy sector and invests in communities disproportionately affected by pollution. Voting NO ensures that Washington continues to lead in climate action, protecting our environment and fostering sustainable economic growth.
Ballot Measure Initiative Measure 2124 – VOTE NO
Initiative 2124 proposes allowing individuals to opt out of the Washington Long-Term Care Trust Act, which provides essential benefits for long-term care. Opting out undermines the sustainability and effectiveness of the program, which is designed to help residents afford the high costs of long-term care, whether at home or in facilities. By maintaining broad participation, the program can offer comprehensive and reliable support to those in need. Voting NO protects this safety net, ensuring that all Washingtonians have access to the long-term care services they may eventually require, without facing prohibitive costs.
GOVENOR
Bob Ferguson is running for Washington Governor and has long been an ally of UAW. As Attorney General we worked with Ferguson’s office to fight the 2020 travel bans. Ferguson’s priorities include increasing higher ed funding, addressing the extremely regressive tax structure, and improving healthcare access for all Washingtonians. We’re looking forward to continuing work with Bob Ferguson. Vote Ferguson for Governor this November!
ATTORNEY GENERAL
Nick Brown is running for Washington State Attorney General to be the people’s lawyer, to expand on Bob Ferguson’s legacy of protecting the labor and civil rights of all Washington residents: citizens and non-citizens alike. As legal counsel to Governor Inslee, Brown fended off attacks on worker protections from the Freedom Foundation and other anti-union actors. He has vowed to establish a new Labor and Worker Protection Division in the Attorney General’s Office to prosecute employers for committing wage theft, creating unsafe working conditions, and violating other labor laws. He helped resist Trump’s Muslim ban and defended the Keep Washington Working Act to protect our immigrant and undocumented workers; and he is prepared to sue the White House—regardless who wins it—if it threatens immigrant rights. As a US Attorney, he has built a record of protecting civil and consumer rights; as Attorney General, he will litigate against attacks on tenants’ rights, abortion and other healthcare access, and the environment.

State House District 43, Position 2 – Shaun Scott
Shaun Scott is a labor champion candidate running to represent legislative district 43, home to the University of Washington. Scott is a former 4121 member who deeply understands the issues faced by us as academic workers. Last year he helped write and pass a bill to address the lack of affordable housing with Representative Chopp, who Scott is now running to replace with Chopp’s sole endorsement. Scott is highly supportive of unions, and has joined us at many UAW 4121 pickets over the years. If elected, Scott will continue to work with us to expand access to affordable housing, improve minimum wage laws, increase higher ed funding, and more. Record turnout and a large winning margin will give Scott strength to begin addressing these needs right away, so this November vote for Shaun Scott! And tell everyone you know too!
State House District 46, Position 2 – Darya Farivar
Darya Farivar, the youngest member of the State Legislature, has already directly championed UAW labor movements in her first term, circulating a letter within the Legislature in support of Local 4121’s bargaining campaign and speaking at the strike announcement rally. As the first Middle Eastern American woman elected to the State Legislature, she has spoken out in support of a ceasefire in Gaza. Her voting record is strongly pro-labor, and she sponsored and cosponsored bills establishing mass layoff protections, strengthening antitrust penalties, creating unemployment insurance for undocumented workers, and more.
